The Grafenberg Disciples
The Grafenberg Disciples exist at the crossroads of Funk, Pop, Jazz and Classic Rock and Roll.
Imagine what you would get if you put Prince, Level42, Ultravox, Marvin Gaye, Toad The Wet Sprocket and a few others into a blender. (actually what you would get would be a pink gooey mess with a few buttons floating on top, but that’s not what we’re trying to get at here...)
The Grafenberg Disciples gives Bob a chance to construct a bridge between his various and sundry musical influences and obsessions. Interestingly the material for debut album tentatively titled “Johnny On The Spot” was originally written by Bob Madsen and Chad Quist for another The Highlander Company Records artist, namely Operation: Paperclip; a joint venture between Bob Madsen and Tony Carey. After Tony heard the demos created by Bob Madsen and Chad Quist, he said something to the effect of, “This shit is good, but it really should be a new album.” After some consideration, Bob agreed with his assessment and started The Grafenberg Disciples.
Bob then enlisted Sacramento, CA based soul singer extraordinaire Hans Eberbach to front the new outfit and began the process of recording the album. Again, Gregg Bissonette and Frank Rosato have been called on to provide drums and knob turning talents respectively and 41POINT9 guitarist, Chad Quist has signed on for the long haul as well.
The first T.G.D single will be a sexy, little ditty entitled, “She Lay Sleeping” which is slated for release early July 2019.Look for more releases over the summer and fall and hopefully some live dates in late 2019 or early 2020.
The Highlander Company Records can’t wait to share this new gem with you! Stay tuned for more announcements.
Love and Tater Tots!
